SOMETIMES QUIET ARRIVES IN THE MIDDLE OF LIFE

We often imagine quiet as something separate from life.

Found in early mornings or in remote places.

But sometimes quiet arrives in the middle of ordinary things.

Waiting for the kettle to boil.

Sitting at traffic lights.

Watching rain move across a window.

Standing in a queue without reaching for your phone.

The world carries on.

But for a moment, it asks nothing from you.

That seems to be the difference.

Quiet is not always about silence.

Sometimes it is simply the feeling

that you do not need to respond to anything.

So often, the world feels loud not because of the noise itself, but because of the sense that something needs to be done.

We are constantly responding and adjusting.

Running to keep up with our day.

And then, sometimes, that feeling drops away.

The moment continues, but our part in it softens.

We are still there.

But we are not being asked to change anything.

That is where quiet often begins. Not when the world stops, but when, for a moment,

it no longer needs anything from you.
