PORTFOLIOS

When illustrating I aim to capture a moment of emotion or the sheer joy nature gives us when it puts on a show. My work is guided by an interest in our connection - to nature, ourselves, and others- and I create designs that offer either a burst of energy or a moment of calm.

MY LIFE AS A CREATIVE

I am a multifaceted creative professional with over thirty years of experience spanning design, yoga instruction, and illustration. My design career includes consulting roles at Crighton Design, where I worked on international projects in Norway, Addison Design Consultancy, and BWCP Architects, where I worked with high-profile clients including BP & British Rail. My international experience extends to San Francisco, where I developed designs for the Golden Shears Award winning Think Tank men's fashion store. A certified yoga instructor since 2001 through the British Wheel of Yoga, I have taught all age groups and specialised in rehabilitation as an ARNI-trained stroke recovery specialist, working with distinguished clients who value both my expertise and discretion. I originally undertook landscape architecture training at Gloucestershire College and Greenwich University, which, refined my design sensibilities and gave me a thorough grounding in the art of using pencil, pen, ink and colour wash to convey mood. It also taught me to understand a sense of place and develop the confidence to listen and respond to a clients brief. Many years of teaching has enabled me to further develop my skills in understanding emotion and the importance of respecting the space a person is standing in as well as having a sense of humour .

Recently my illustration work has garnered commissions from Guildhall Art Gallery, Community PlaythingsOcean Sole, Neil Mackwood, and Ventorros Press, with may nature-inspired cards and stationery featured in galleries throughout Sussex and Kent, including at Pashley Manor's celebrated flower festivals.
